Vintage Lemonade Recipe
Lemonade is then ultimate fresh drink for summer. Forget about fizzy drinks and orange juice, none is as refreshing as the vintage lemonade. There are many, many ways in which people prepare the drink and it all depends on where they live, were they have lived in the past and what they picked up along the way, while many of us just imitate the lemonade our moms made us.
The recipe for vintage lemonade consists of water, lemon juice and sugar. All you have to do in order to recreate the feeling of childhood and memories of long lost times in a cup is to get some water, say, for example, one liter of water. Depending on how much you want to drink you can put as much water as you wish. Noncarbonated water is best in this situation, but it all depends on individual taste.
After getting the water and putting it in a big enough container, you have to cut the lemons. You can squeeze them directly over the container, use a designated squeezer or put slices of the lemons inside the water. Or any combination of these steps you want.
The last step is to add sugar or sweetener in whatever quantity you like, to make it as sweet as you like. It is recommended however that you put a little less, so not to take away from the freshness of the drink. The original recipe for lemonade has seen many changes in time. Lemonade is not just a drink for kids anymore as the newer versions come with alcohol and cater especially for adults.
Newer concoctions made with lemonade have transformed the drink into various cocktails by adding mountains of ice, brandy, liquor, Kahlua, vodka or any combination of these in the same glass. The vintage lemonade still remains a favorite for many though, even with the many other offers available.
